Kraft Center, 15 Essex Road in Paramus, New Jersey. It’s time for our Third Annual BAKE OFF ! We are calling all our bakers – and we know you are out there. We’d love to taste your best efforts at made-from-scratch baking We would like to share recipes, taste your best kitchen dessert creation and exchange great ideas. If you don’t bake or can’t bake, please don’t fret. Come and enjoy the goodies, vote on the best and get some wonderful ideas you can pass along to a friend who loves you and does bake! Please see the details for our baking event further down in this agenda. We will be joined at this meeting by Garden Lites All Natural for a delicious sampling of their vegetarian souffles. These are being marketed at area stores such as Shoprite. They are a welcome addition to the “what’s quick and easy for dinner” menu. We will also have a sampling of soup from Kettle Cuisine (www.kettlecuisine.com, 877 302 - Soup). It’s that time of year, and their line includes many favorites that are gluten free, including Chicken Noodle soup and New England Clam Chowder. Make sure you pick up the 50 cent discount coupon from them too. Additionally, Dr. Praeger’s Sensible Foods has sent along a 50 cent off coupon to use on their line of frozen gluten free products. Once only available for a short time during the Passover holidays, Dr. Praeger has expanded their gluten free line to include items that are available year round. These include fish sticks and fillets, sweet potato pancakes, spinach and potato littles and more. Not just convenient but delicious too. Their website is www.drpraegers.com . And we will also have a $1.00 off coupon on Organic Bistro Whole Life Meals. These are innovative, nutritious and just plain yummy, with a creative use of different grains, plenty of vegetables and lots of flavor. We’ve enjoyed their Savory Turkey, Jamaican Shrimp Cake and Spiced Chicken Morocco, to name just a few of their line. Find them at theorganicbistro.com, 480 664-8729. Another quick and easy dinner alternative when cooking is not an option! For all our bakers, please: write out, in detail, all ingredients used, including the brand names. If you choose to make a recipe including oats, please make sure that you are using certified, gluten free oats. bring two copies of your recipe – one to display at the table and the other to give us so we can share it with our members. no purchased, pre-made items for this event. Items made with a mix, such as Gluten Free Pantry brownies or gingerbread, should be avoided UNLESS you’ve dolled them up significantly. Everyone at the meeting will vote for best in category, and a prize will be awarded for the first place winners! Let’s collect some good recipes for the holidays and enjoy a social evening with gluten free friends. We would very much like to have a holiday event this December. Einat Mazor, of Bliss Fine Foods ( www.bliss-catering.com) would cater our gathering but we do not currently have a space in which to hold it. If you would like to host such an event mid-week on either December 9, 16 or 17, please call Susan immediately. The size of the event would depend on your space so please don’t be shy to offer what you have! Alternatively we can choose to meet at a local restaurant to enjoy a meal together on one of those evenings. If this would be interesting to you call and I will coordinate an outing. Our meeting fee is $2 per adult (children free). To RSVP and for additional information, please call Susan at 201 447-1077 or e-mail Diane at dcaleca@hygradebusiness.com.
